Living in a Moment

I had first heard about the Art of Living in 2000 when my husband’s cousin became very involved with the organization. I was intrigued, but not yet moved to find out more. Later, in 2004, my mother also became very involved and I noticed a dramatic change in her life. But still, I did not take the steps to find out more.

In 2010, however, I started to feel that I could benefit by doing work towards my spiritual journey. I had been through a lot over the past 5 years and had really had an awakening about spiritual matters, but I felt that I could be even more dedicated.

In April, then, I had an opportunity to take the basic course in Columbus, IN with my best friend and my husband. It was a beautiful experience that not only brought us closer, but also gave us tools, including the powerful Sudarshan Kriya, to manage stress, find relaxation, and enhance our own meditative practices.
My husband and I were diligent in our daily practice and have made a concerted effort to do the weekly long kriya. For myself, I have felt an incredible shift in my ability to stay in the moment and to let insignificant annoyances go.

Since taking the basic course in April, I have been lucky enough to take another basic course, do the Sri Sri Yoga course, and take the Art of Silence course. All of these courses have been wonderful experiences and I appreciate the increased sense of balance I have felt in my life.
